About Us

What MYWORLDNEWS24 is

MYWORLDNEWS24, published at myworldnews24.com, is an independent general news site written in English for readers everywhere. We cover the world around the clock: breaking news, business, economy, entertainment, health, politics, science, sports and technology. The name is a promise about cadence, not a marketing flourish. News does not keep office hours, and neither does a readership spread across every time zone. When markets open in Tokyo, something is closing in New York, and a reader in Lagos or Manila is checking a phone in between. The desk is built around that fact.

We are a small independent team of editors. There is no parent media group behind us, no broadcaster licensing us a brand, and no political organisation paying our bills. That size shapes everything else on this page. We cannot be everywhere, so we are honest about what we do ourselves and what we build on top of reporting done by others.

What we actually do

Most of what appears on MYWORLDNEWS24 is written by our editors from primary and public sources: official statements, court filings, regulatory releases, company disclosures, scientific journals, verified footage and the reporting of established news agencies and outlets, which we credit and link. We are candid about this. A site our size does not have a correspondent in every capital, and pretending otherwise would be the first lie on a site that exists to avoid them. Our value is in the desk work: checking a claim against the original document before repeating it, putting a number next to the number it should be compared with, and saying plainly when something is not yet confirmed.

A few habits define the output:

  • Attribution is visible. If a figure comes from a government agency, a company filing or a wire service, the story says so. A claim that arrives without a source we can name usually does not run.
  • Headlines match the story. The headline may not promise more than the body delivers. If the body says “reportedly”, the headline does not say it happened.
  • Developing stories are labeled as developing. Early coverage of a breaking event is honest about what is unconfirmed, and it gets updated as facts firm up rather than left to mislead.
  • News and opinion do not share a wardrobe. The overwhelming majority of what we publish is news. Anything that argues a view is labeled so that no reader has to guess.

Why a general news site, in this decade

The common advice for a small publisher is to pick a niche and stay in it. We went the other way on purpose. The stories that matter most now refuse to stay in one category. A semiconductor export rule is a technology story, an economy story and a politics story at once. A pandemic-era drug approval touches health, science and business in the same paragraph. Readers who get their news one silo at a time keep missing the connections, and the connections are usually the story. Our category pages, from BUSINESS and ECONOMY through SCIENCE, SPORTS and WORLD, are entrances, not walls. The same editors work across all of them, and a story is filed where readers will look for it, then cross-referenced where it also belongs.

The reader we write for

We picture someone with ten minutes and a phone, who reads English but may not live in an English-speaking country, and who is tired of two specific failures of international coverage. The first is parochialism: world news written as if the only question about any event is what it means for one large country. The second is vagueness: “officials said” without saying which officials, “experts warn” without naming an expert, currency figures without a conversion, local context stripped out because the writer assumed nobody outside the region was reading. We write for the reader who notices those things. Dates carry the year. Times carry the time zone. Money carries the currency. Places are located, not assumed.

How the site pays for itself

MYWORLDNEWS24 is funded by advertising and, where relevant and disclosed, affiliate links. There is no paywall and no subscription. No advertiser sees a story before publication, no advertiser can order one up or have one removed, and no political party, government, campaign or lobby has ever funded us. The full detail, including what we would do if that ever changed, is in our Ownership and Funding statement, which we keep current.

When we get it wrong

A site that publishes around the clock will make mistakes, and a fast-moving story sometimes changes shape after the first version is published. What we can promise is what happens next: errors are corrected in the story itself, the correction is visible rather than silent, and significant fixes are explained. The mechanics are in our Corrections Policy, and the standards we hold ourselves to before publishing at all are in our Editorial Standards and Fact-Checking Policy. Those three pages are the real “about us”. This page tells you what we intend; those pages tell you what we do when intention meets a deadline.

Why there are no bylined faces here

We publish as a team rather than under individual names. On a desk this size, every story of consequence passes through more than one pair of hands, and a personal byline would credit one editor for what was checked and shaped by others. Collective responsibility also means collective accountability: when something is wrong, “the site got it wrong” is the accurate sentence, and the site fixes it. If you need to reach a human being, you can, at support@myworldnews24.com, and a named editor will answer mail that needs a named answer.

Talk to us

Corrections, story tips, questions about a piece, advertising enquiries and everything else come to support@myworldnews24.com. Details on how to write so the right editor sees your message first are on the Contact page. The mail gets read. On a site built by a small team for a large world, reader mail is not a chore around the edges of the job. It is one of the ways we find out what we missed.
