Glastonbury 2027 Sells a Blank Bill in 42 Minutes
Glastonbury 2027 general tickets sold out in 42 minutes at a record £408, with no acts named and a slower clock than 2025.
Glastonbury 2027 general tickets sold out in 42 minutes on Sunday 4 October at a record £408, with no acts named. See Tickets called the sale at 9:42am, after doors opened at 9am, and coach packages had already gone in under 30 minutes on Thursday 1 October.
The scramble was real. It was also slower than the 35-minute general sale for 2025, the last festival before the 2026 fallow year.
Glastonbury 2027 Tickets Lasted 42 Minutes
The first Glastonbury since 2025 runs at Worthy Farm from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027. Buyers had to be pre-registered, and they paid a £100 deposit on the day. The remaining £308 is due in April.
At 9:26am the queue page said more than half the available tickets had gone and that the line for the rest was moving steadily. Some buyers were already through by 9:04am. Sixteen minutes later the rest of the allocation was gone.
THE SUNDAY SALE CLOCK
- 9:00am, 4 October 2026: General admission opens on See Tickets for registered buyers only.
- 9:04am: Early purchasers complete payment and start posting confirmation screens.
- 9:26am: The queue page says over half the tickets have sold.
- 9:42am: See Tickets posts that Glastonbury Festival 2027 is sold out and that confirmation emails are going out.
The official seller put the result in one post, then started sending the mail.
Tickets for @Glastonbury Festival 2027 are now SOLD OUT. Confirmation emails are going out now. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets this morning and sorry to those who missed out.
— See Tickets (@seetickets) October 4, 2026
Glastonbury’s own site told anyone still staring at the page that this morning’s tickets had all been sold, with a resale of cancelled or returned tickets promised for spring 2027. Demand, it said, greatly exceeded supply. That is the usual line. The unusual part is the clock: seven minutes longer than 2025, after a year off and a higher price.
A Record Price for a Festival With No Bill
Organisers set general admission at £408 including a £5 booking fee, plus £11.25 postage and packing per order, or £3 for coach tickets. It is the first time the weekend pass has gone through £400. The 2025 ticket was £378.50 with the same £5 fee, so the jump is £29.50, or 7.8%.
Put that against the last festival before the pandemic and the rise is steeper. Admission in 2019 was £248 plus the same £5 fee, £253 in total. The 2027 price is 61% higher than that figure. The booking fee has not moved.
None of that bought a poster. Emily Eavis, the festival organiser, said in August that all three Pyramid Stage headliners were already booked. She has not named them. Bookmakers have floated Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Little Simz. Harry Styles, Radiohead, Fontaines D.C., Muse and The Rolling Stones have been in the mix too. Styles’s 2027 tour dates leave Glastonbury weekend free. Fontaines D.C. currently have the Friday, 25 June, open ahead of two shows at Slane Castle.
Ronnie Wood said he would play Glastonbury 2027 in the drop of a hat, then added that he did not know if his bandmates felt the same. Robbie Williams has outdoor dates in the week after the festival, which has fed talk of the Sunday Legends slot. It is not confirmed. Buyers still paid the deposit.
Locking the Queue to a Single Device
The 2027 sale reused a change that first showed up in Thursday’s coach window. Fans had to enter their registration details before they could join the virtual queue. The same registration is tied to one position, so opening a second laptop or phone does not create a second place in line.
Older sales let people hold the number back until the booking page, which meant extra attempts across devices. That route is closed. Anyone who joined after 9am went to the back. Registration itself closed at 5pm BST on Friday 25 September and does not reopen until after these October sales.
Inside the queue, buyers saw a row of blocks that turned green as they moved forward, with no numerical place. The bars sat still for long stretches. People started calling it a two-bar wait. Others hit “access restricted” messages while saying they were not on a VPN. American Express is not accepted. Once a buyer reached the details page, the clock to finish was short, and tickets are only allocated when payment clears.
Replies under the sold-out post went somewhere colder than the green-bar jokes. People asked for a ballot. They also said the same cohort gets through every year. The new lock stops the extra tabs. It does not, on this evidence, make the morning feel any less like a lottery with a photo attached.
How Fast Glastonbury Tickets Have Sold Out
A 42-minute sell-out still sounds like a stampede until it sits next to the last decade. The 2015 general sale sold out in 25 minutes, which the festival called a record at the time. That remains the fastest official general sale on the books. 2025 went in 35 minutes. 2024 took 57 minutes. In 2011 the wait was four hours. In 2010 it was 12.
GENERAL SALE TIMES
| Festival | General admission | Coach packages |
|---|---|---|
| 2015 | 25 minutes | 15 minutes |
| 2024 | 57 minutes | 25 minutes |
| 2025 | 35 minutes | 32 minutes |
| 2027 | 42 minutes | Under 30 minutes |
The 2025 spring resale of unpaid and cancelled tickets lasted 19 minutes. Coach packages for 2027 went on Thursday 1 October at 6pm and were gone in under 30 minutes, in line with recent coach windows rather than faster than them. The fallow year did not empty the farm in a new record. It emptied it on a familiar timetable, at a higher price, with a tighter queue.
April’s Balance Week Is the Second Sale
A sold-out morning is not the last allocation. Each buyer paid £100 per person on 4 October, up to six tickets in one transaction, so a full six-person order needed a £600 deposit. The rest of the money is not due until spring.
THE PAYMENT WINDOW
- 1 to 7 April 2027: Remaining £308 plus postage is due from 9am BST on Thursday 1 April to 11.59pm BST on Wednesday 7 April.
- That same week: Buyers can add car parking passes and cancellation protection to the booking.
- Spring 2027: Unpaid balances and cancelled tickets go into a resale. Registration will reopen before that sale. The exact resale date has not been set.
Anyone who misses the April window loses the ticket. Those passes, plus any returns, become the second public chance. In 2025 that round lasted 19 minutes and had to be paid in full at the point of booking. Coach packages bought in October cannot be swapped for general admission, and a coach buyer must travel on the designated bus.
Tickets are strictly non-transferable. Each one carries the registered holder’s photograph, and door checks are built around that picture. Sharing a registration number with a tout is the risk the festival keeps warning about. Children aged 12 and under do not need a ticket or a registration. Everyone aged 13 or over on 23 June 2027 does.
What a £408 Ticket Covers
The pass is a five-day site ticket, not a seat for one headliner. Camping is included for five nights, with no early-entry fee. The festival’s own ticket note lists what that money is supposed to buy before a single name goes on a poster.
INSIDE THE WEEKEND PASS
- The site: Entry from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027, with camping included.
- The stages: Access to more than 4,000 performances across more than 100 stages, plus a free programme and the free mobile app.
- The extras: Free phone charging, and Kidzfield entertainment, rides and activities at no extra charge.
- The charities: Support for Oxfam, Greenpeace, WaterAid and other causes, with more than £3 million given annually from recent festivals.
Worthy Farm’s licence allows up to 210,000 people on site, including staff, volunteers, performers and traders. Eavis said the 2025 festival sold a few thousand fewer tickets than that cap to ease crowding. The 2027 public allocation has not been announced. There are no separate access tickets; anyone who needs those facilities still buys in the main sale, then applies to the accessibility team, with the form due to open from the end of November.
The other door onto the farm is unpaid. Oxfam has been on site since 1993, and its steward places for Glastonbury still fill in seconds when sign-ups open. That route is not a casual spare ticket. It is shift work in exchange for entry, and for 2027 Oxfam listed a £380 refundable volunteer deposit. The paid sale is not the only scramble the festival creates.
Three Headliners Are Booked and Still Nameless
Eavis has been clearer about who is not coming than about who is. On BBC Radio 4’s PM on 14 August, after months of Madonna rumours, she shut the door in one line and then confirmed the rest of the bill was already in.
No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that. But we have got three headliners and we’re very excited about it, it’s all coming together really well.
Emily Eavis, Glastonbury organiser, on BBC Radio 4’s PM
Asked about Taylor Swift, she laughed and would not go further. She also said that pretty much 95% of the stories written about Glastonbury are not true, and that rumours are pretty much always wrong. In September, after Oasis announced 2027 tour dates with a gap that looked Glastonbury-shaped, a follower asked her to say she had the band. She replied: “Sorry Jimmy, not this time!”
The last festival, in 2025, was headlined by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, with Rod Stewart in the Sunday Legends slot. Charli XCX, Wolf Alice, Doechii, RAYE, Kneecap and Pulp were among the other large names. 2027 still has no poster. The people who got through on 4 October bought five nights in June on the strength of that silence, a photo on a non-transferable pass, and a £100 hold that becomes £308 in April. Everyone else waits for the spring resale of the tickets that are not paid for.
