Star Trek Online Splits Spock Across Three Voices

Star Trek Online will put three Spocks in one story on September 22, 2026, using Ethan Peck, Piotr Michael, and Leonard Nimoy’s archive. Cryptic Studios revealed the Season 37 update, Rediscovered, during a Star Trek Day stream on September 8, sixty years after the franchise’s television debut on September 8, 1966.

The studio is splitting the role by rank. Peck plays Lieutenant Spock, Nimoy’s archival lines return as Commander Spock, and Michael, already the voice of Ambassador Spock in Star Trek: Resurgence, takes Captain Spock from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. PC gets the season first. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series follow on November 10.

Three Ranks Share One Spock in Rediscovered

The new episode, The City on the Edge of Never, sends captains back to the year 2409 and then through Star Trek history, where they meet those three versions of the same man. Cryptic framed the arc as Spock through the ages during a Star Trek Day virtual convention that ran from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. PT, with the next-update panel at 1:10 p.m. PT. Lisa LoCicero, who plays Lieutenant Miral Paris, sat on that panel with executive producer Thomas Marrone. A mystery guest was billed and not named in the morning schedule.

THE THREE VOICES IN THE ARC

Peck is the living face of young Spock on television. Michael is the person Cryptic needs once the character has to sound like late Nimoy. The archive fills the TOS-era middle so the game does not have to pick a single successor.

Who Voices Captain Spock in Rediscovered?

Piotr Michael, a Groundlings-trained Los Angeles impressionist, is Captain Spock in Rediscovered, the Star Trek VI-era role, after voicing older Ambassador Spock in the 2023 game Star Trek: Resurgence. He has also been a Starfleet computer on Discovery, including shuttle computers, and in 2026 he turned up on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy as President Sadal’s voice chip and another computer. The Captain slot is the one television cannot fill with Peck.

Michael’s own site lists mimicry as the job: Groundlings Sunday Company, celebrity bits on late night and Howard Stern, and a run of elder-statesman voices that already includes Master Yoda. In a 2024 Resurgence interview with lead writer Dan Martin, he described Nimoy’s cadence as a craft problem, not a costume.

To me, he’s hiding a Boston accent. That’s a good touchstone for me to have is to do a very light Boston accent and that helped chime in to Leonard Nimoy a little bit more.

That touchstone is not a fan theory. Nimoy grew up in Boston’s West End and spent years losing the Boston accent of his youth so he could book more work. He once joked that if you had asked him, after he left the city, what part he played, he would have said he was “Spahk on Stah Trek.” Michael is putting a light version of that buried sound back into the later captain, which is why the movie-era role did not go to the current TV actor.

He has also been clear that a pure impression traps the line. “It’s not just an impression, you’re doing voice doubling, you’re acting,” he told Martin. Players who thought the Resurgence Spock was machine-made were hearing a working double, and Cryptic is now promoting that double from ambassador to captain.

Archival Nimoy Returns as Commander Spock

Cryptic said original archival dialogue from Leonard Nimoy is reintroduced as Commander Spock, bringing that performance back into the game. Reintroduced is the load-bearing word. Nimoy was the first Original Series lead in Star Trek Online, and he recorded at Cryptic Studios in 2009, months before launch.

At launch he was careful about what the job was. “I am essentially a tour guide or narrator. I don’t do the Spock character,” Nimoy said in 2010, describing the omniscient voice that steered new captains. The new season still needs that original instrument for Commander Spock, and it cannot hire him again, so the tapes come back beside two living actors who were born into the role after him. Zachary Quinto, the Kelvin Timeline Spock, was in the same 2010 build as a Khitomer emergency medical hologram, which is how early Cryptic split the two screen Spocks: Nimoy as the myth, Quinto as a gag cameo.

Why Ethan Peck Is in a 2010 MMO

Ethan Peck reprises Lieutenant Spock from Discovery Season 2 and Strange New Worlds, which is the version of the character Paramount is selling on television in the 60th-anniversary year. Putting him in Star Trek Online lets a free-to-play MMO that launched on February 2, 2010, borrow the current face of the role without asking that face to play a 2293 captain. The game gets the live series. The live series does not have to house Nimoy’s later voice.

Peck has said he met with the Nimoy family before Discovery Season 2, calling that meeting the first step in feeling he could do the part. He also said Nimoy’s Spock was his benchmark, with Quinto set aside as an alternate universe. Rediscovered now parks that benchmark, the TV successor, and the game double in the same mission path, which is a stacking trick film and television still do not attempt in one scene.

The louder talk around the drop is already the Strange New Worlds Constitution and a new gifting toggle, which is how a 16-year-old MMO actually funds a three-voice stunt. Peck’s name opens the stream. The economy underneath it is ships, outfits, and a Zen Store gift option for friends and fleetmates.

Captains Go Back to 2409 Through the Gateway

Rediscovered continues the remaster of The Ultimate Klingon, the launch-era story Cryptic began reworking in the prior season, Undiscovered. Time is beginning to fracture, the studio said, after key people in the Federation and the Klingon Empire vanish and kick off temporal disturbances. Captains return to 2409 to chase the disappearances of Lieutenant Miral Paris and Ambassador B’vat. Her last message on the Gateway Planet starts a run through Star Trek history and another attempt to stop B’vat.

LoCicero is back as Miral Paris, the adult daughter of Tom Paris and B’Elanna Torres she played in Voyager’s finale, Endgame, and later in Star Trek Online. Jon St. John returns as B’vat. The Gateway Planet is the old Guardian of Forever stop from the original City on the Edge of Never, a mission that shipped with the game on February 2, 2010, and was already visually reworked in Season 8.5. The new pass folds Spock through the ages into that chase instead of building a standalone anniversary episode.

WHAT REDISCOVERED ADDS ON SEPTEMBER 22

• New episode: The City on the Edge of Never, a remastered 2409 mystery that throws captains through the Gateway and across Spock’s ranks.
• New five-player space TFO: Know Thy Enemy, billed as B’vat’s Klingon holosimulation, a training program meant to expose Federation weaknesses.
• Season event: Rediscovered, with selected TFOs awarding space weapons aimed at B’vat and his allies.
• Returning voices: Lisa LoCicero as Lieutenant Miral Paris and Jon St. John as B’vat, on top of the three Spocks.

Know Thy Enemy asks whether captains have the strength, cunning, and endurance to execute B’vat’s vision against their own allies. That is the combat half of a season whose story half is a time fracture. Both halves feed the same event track.

The Prize Pack Holds 60 Starships

The 60th-anniversary shop layer is doing as much work as the casting. A new 60th Anniversary Starship Icons Prize Pack offers a chance at one of 60 starships, with the studio promising strong odds of a ship in every pack and a save-up path toward higher-tier prizes. The grand prize is the Constitution Pilot Multi-Mission Cruiser [T6], described as the flagship of Strange New Worlds. Wiki notes on the season also say the pack unlocks SNW Constitution parts for the Constitution Temporal Light Cruiser, and that a Wrath of Khan uniform remaster is in the same drop.

The 2260 hologram is patterned after Strange New Worlds, even though Peck’s story role is Lieutenant; the 2293 hologram matches Michael’s Captain Spock from The Undiscovered Country. Select Zen Store bundles, including Mudd’s Bundles, anniversary starship bundles, legendary bundles, starter packs, and expansion packs, can now be bought as gifts for a friend or a fleetmate.

On the same September 8 storefront, Cryptic was also marking 10 years of the console version with a free Keyring Bundle, running a 20 percent sale on slots, services, and ship upgrades, and pointing captains at Patch Notes for 9/8/26. The anniversary pitch and the ordinary live-service calendar are on the same page.

A 16-Year-Old Game Is Still Casting Legends

Star Trek Online is 16 years old in 2026, and Cryptic said earlier this year the title had drawn over 7.7 million players since launch. Jack Emmert, a studio co-founder, returned as CEO in January 2026 and talked about growing the games still running under the Cryptic banner. Rediscovered is the 60th-anniversary proof of that brief: keep the old Klingon war story in circulation, hire the current TV Spock, promote the game-world Nimoy double, and press the 2009 tapes back into service as Commander Spock.

Television can recast a young lieutenant. It cannot, in 2026, walk a captain into a room and have Nimoy, Peck, and a trained double answer in sequence. The MMO can, because it already stored the original voice, already hired the impressionist for Resurgence, and still ships seasons on a 16-year-old client. Captains on PC get that stack on September 22. Console captains wait until November 10.
